Annette Funicello, then 13 years old, was discovered to be a child by Walt Disney in an amateur show called Swan Lake performed in Fullerton California. The Funicello's Mickey Mouse Club teammates were furious when Funicello became part of the cast in the first season of the show, without having to audition.
